I’m a maths teacher in the United Kingdom and have just made it through to the end of my third year of teaching. This is a big deal (according to those vocal union types) as most new teachers quit before they have done three years. Supposedly this means that I’m in it for the long haul now…

In order to celebrate this momentus occasion (and because I’m easily bored) I started applying for new jobs and am now the KS3 co-ordinator at a shiny, new (for me) school as of September.

I’m taking this as an opportunity to try and get my new colleagues to experiment with more problem based learning and lots of rich mathematical tasks. A big ask of the teachers that I’ve worked with in the past, but I’m still green and enthusiastic about this all!

This blog is my attempt at sharing resources and experiences with other teachers, hope that you find it helpful.
